SUNLIT STORIES

YOUR FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT EXPLAINED

Hey, my name is BECCY

Thank you soooo much for trusting me to capture your beautiful family. I’m so happy you booked and so excited to create some magic with you all.

If you're worried about your little ones not sitting still, not smiling or just doing their own thing, please don't be! That's exactly what I expect, and honestly, it's often where my favourite moments happen.

These sessions are super relaxed. We'll have a play, explore, cuddle, laugh and let the kids be kids. You don't need to know how to pose or spend the whole time looking at my camera. I'll guide you along the way, but mostly I just want you to enjoy being together.

This little guide covers everything you need to know before the day, but if I've missed anything, just ask me. X

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

1 HOUR

Our time together to capture beautiful family photos

JUST BE YOU

No perfect poses or forced smiles needed

LET THEM PLAY

The kids can run, explore and just be kids

ALL THE LOVE

Cuddles, chaos and all those little in-between moments

“YOU DON’T NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING. THAT’S MY JOB. JUST COME, HAVE A PLAY AND TRUST THE PROCESS.”

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

  • Up to two outfits  (+ togs for the end if you want to splash/swim)

  • Towels if you're happy to get wet

  • Water and a few easy snacks for the kids

  • A favourite comfort item if your little one needs it

  • A warm layer for afterwards, especially for sunrise sessions

A little tip : If possible, try to pack everything into one bag that I can easily carry. I love being able to wander along the beach and capture those beautiful, natural moments without everyone having to carry their belongings.

WHAT TO WEAR

I always think it makes sense to dress for the occasion!

If we're shooting at the beach, think beachy, relaxed, barefoot and maybe even finishing in your togs for a splash in the ocean! If we're shooting at your family property or farm, embrace those country vibes.... Think Blundstones, denim, earthy tones and clothes that feel right for your surroundings.

If it's a newborn session at home, get comfy and keep it real- Bare feet, relaxed clothing, cosy knits and whatever feels natural for you and your family.

Some families choose to stick with one outfit for the whole session, while others love an outfit change or simply stripping down to their togs towards the end. It's totally personal preference! I'd recommend a maximum of two outfits plus togs so we have plenty of time to fit everything in without feeling rushed.

Most importantly, bring your own natural style to the session. I've linked a Pinterest board with some looks I personally love, but this is YOUR shoot, so you do you! I want you to absolutely love your images and feel like yourselves.

OUTFITS IDEAS HERE

And please, if you're stuck on what to wear, just message me! You can even send through a little flat lay of the outfits you're thinking and we can work it out together.

LOCATION

If we haven't already locked in a location, I usually like to wait until a few days before our session to check the weather, particularly the wind!

The Sunshine Coast has so many beautiful little spots, and choosing the right beach depending on the conditions can make such a difference.

I'll keep in touch in the lead-up to our session and let you know exactly where we'll be meeting. (I'll always try and find somewhere close to where you are visiting or living if possible)

WEATHER

I'm always keeping an eye on the weather leading up to our session.

If it's looking rainy or the conditions aren't great, I'm more than happy to be flexible where possible and look at changing our date.

I know this isn't always possible, especially if you're travelling or have organised time off, but we'll always have a chat and I'll do my absolute best to accommodate where I can.

Sometimes a little cloud cover can be beautiful too, so we don't necessarily need perfect sunshine!

YOUR IMAGES

My editing style is natural, with beautiful colours, soft tones and all those little details that make your images feel like you.

Your finished gallery will be delivered within 4–6 weeks of your session.

I put so much love into editing each gallery and can't wait for you to see your images!

YOU'RE READY <3

Please don't spend your session worrying about whether your kids are behaving, if everyone is smiling or whether we're getting enough photos.

I promise, the beautiful moments are often the ones you don't even realise are happening.

Your only job is to love on your babies, have some fun and enjoy being together.

I'll take care of the rest. X
